Brandenburg, Germany – Terratest 5000 BLU, is the world’s first light weight deflectometer that features a Bluetooth and voice navigation technology. It has been decided upon to be used for the biggest road construction “Superstrada Pedemontana Veneta” in Italy.
The two important cities Vicenza and Treviso in Italy will now be connected by the “Superstrada Pedemontana Veneta”.This road is planned to reducethe traffic on the highway A4 between Verona and Venice. This heavy and important construction in Italy will be commenced under high supervision and examination. Each task will be performed meticulously, which implies the usage of the latest equipment and technology. The is one such tool that will be used for the load plate test, an important element in constructing roads.
The Terratest 5000 BLU light weightdeflectometer (LWD) is a tool that revolutionalises the soil testing method. This tool is the world’s first light LWD to operate wireless. This makes work faster and accurate by transmitting the measurements via Bluetooth from load plate to measuring computer, smartphone or tablet. This tool is a benefit in disguise in the construction sites since the measuring computer need not to be placed directly next to the mechanics.
TERRATEST’s CEO, Frank Georg Schulz said, “We are very proud that Northern Italy relies on the Light Weight Deflectometer TERRATEST 5000 BLU”. “Especially since this road construction project is one of the biggest in Europe, being worth around 2.5 billion Euros. And our load plate will help to optimise the work”, he continued. This road will have four lanes of 95 KMs with an emergency lane in each direction. Out of the 90 KMs which will run along the foot of the mountain Alps; 50 KMs will be in trenches. Moreover, 6 KMs underpasses will be built.
Most of the construction companies and test laboratories in Italy rely on the Light Weight Deflectometer from TERRATEST. The responsibility of minutely examining the important tests to be carried out for this construction has been entrusted to Geolab Trevigiana test laboratory. Francesco Trulli, from Geolab Trevigian said, “We will use the Light Weight Deflectometer to accelerate the load plate tests and thus, the construction progress and to optimise the quality of the compaction work”. He further continued, “Considering the massive earth movements during the construction of the Pedemontana Veneta, the benefits of the dynamic load plate are clearly obvious: easy handling together with precise test results and quick test execution”.
About The Company:
is a German manufacturer of light weight deflectometer for dynamic load bearing capacity test. This test is to evaluate compaction in road constructions, track laying, earthworks, infrastructure works.
